Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Sound Designer & Audio Engineer to lead the audio production pipeline for interactive projects in a fully remote setting. You will craft sonic landscapes, design FX, and implement audio using middleware across game engines while collaborating with a world-class team.

The role requires a strong portfolio, extensive DAW experience, and a passion for immersive audio in interactive media.

Qualifications

• Proven professional experience as a Sound Designer and Audio Engineer.
• Expertise with DAWs (Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase) and audio editing.
• Proficiency with audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD) and game engines (Unity, Unreal).
• Strong understanding of acoustics, psychoacoustics, and mixing principles.
• Experience recording and manipulating field recordings and synthesized sounds.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and implement high-quality sound effects, ambient audio, and musical elements for interactive projects.
• Record, edit, and mix audio assets to meet project specifications and quality standards.
• Develop and maintain the overall audio direction and implementation strategy for projects.
• Collaborate with game designers, level designers, and narrative teams to enhance audio and storytelling.
• Utilize Wwise or FMOD for audio implementation and dynamic audio systems.
• Manage audio assets, libraries, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot audio-related technical issues during development.
• Stay up-to-date with advancements in interactive audio practices.
• Mentor junior sound designers and provide guidance on audio production.
• Mix and master final audio for multiple platforms.
