Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Senior Sound Designer & Audio Engineer to craft immersive sonic experiences for interactive projects, games and digital content. You will design, record, edit, and mix high-quality audio, collaborate with designers and developers, and ensure assets integrate smoothly into Unity or Unreal engines while maintaining strong acoustics and narrative alignment.

This fully remote role requires a portfolio of game/audio work, excellent communication in a distributed team,

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a Sound Designer or Audio Engineer with a portfolio for games/interactive media.
• Expert proficiency in DAWs (Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live).
• Experience with audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD) and game engines (Unity, Unreal).
• Strong acoustics knowledge, signal flow, mixing and mastering.
• Remote work capability with strong self-management and communication.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and implement sound effects, ambient soundscapes, and musical elements for interactive projects.
• Record, edit, and mix audio to achieve high-quality sound fidelity across platforms.
• Collaborate virtually with designers, developers, directors, and creatives to define audio needs and integrate assets.
• Implement audio assets into game engines or other development environments.
• Mix and master audio content to meet technical specs and creative goals.
• Troubleshoot and resolve audio issues during development and post-production.
• Stay current with audio tech and trends in the Arts & Entertainment context.
• Manage audio assets and maintain organized project files.
• Contribute creative ideas to enhance the auditory experience.
• Ensure sound design aligns with emotional tone and narrative.
