Job summary

Placements24 invites applications for a Senior Security Operations Analyst to join a globally distributed SOC. This remote-first position focuses on monitoring, threat hunting, and incident response across the organization's infrastructure.

You will analyze security alerts, investigate incidents, and contribute to SOC process improvements. Collaboration with security teams and mentoring junior analysts are key parts of this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Cybersecurity/CS/IT.
• At least 5 years in SecOps, IR, or equivalent cybersecurity role.
• Strong knowledge of SIEM (Splunk/QRadar), IDS/IPS, EDR, and firewalls.
• Experience in threat analysis, incident investigation, and malware analysis.
• Familiarity with threat intel platforms and methodologies.
• Automation scripting in Python or PowerShell is a plus.
• Certifications like GCIH, GCIA, OSCP, CISSP highly regarded.
• Excellent communication and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and cloud security platforms.
• Perform in-depth investigations of security incidents, identifying root causes and containment strategies.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting to identify and neutralize advanced threats.
• Develop and refine security detection rules and use cases to improve SOC effectiveness.
• Contribute to incident response plan development and execution.
• Analyze threat intelligence feeds and incorporate relevant findings into operations.
• Document incident details, investigation steps, and remediation actions.
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure comprehensive coverage.
• Mentor junior analysts and share knowledge within the SOC team.
• Stay up-to-date with latest threats, attack vectors, and defensive techniques.
