Placements24 is seeking a Senior Renewable Energy Policy Advisor to join a prestigious international organization focused on sustainable development. This fully remote role within South Africa involves developing, analyzing, and advocating for renewable energy policies at national and regional levels.

You will shape energy transition strategies, promote clean tech investment, and advise governments and stakeholders on policy frameworks.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Public Policy, Economics, Law, Environmental Science or related field with energy policy specialization.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in renewable energy policy analysis, development, or advocacy.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, market dynamics and economics.
• Proven experience in policy research, impact assessment and strategic advisory.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work independently in remote settings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth research and analysis of renewable energy policies and regulations globally and regionally.
• Develop policy recommendations and strategic frameworks to accelerate renewable energy deployment.
• Advise governments, industry associations, and stakeholders on policy design and implementation.
• Evaluate the impact of policies on market development, investment, and environmental outcomes.
• Prepare policy briefs, reports and white papers; facilitate dialogues and stakeholder consultations.
• Stay updated on trends, technologies, and best practices in renewables; contribute to proposals and fundraising.
• Represent the organization in forums, conferences and working groups.
