Placements24 is seeking a sharp and analytical Renewable Energy Policy Analyst to join our client’s team. The role is fully remote within South Africa, focusing on researching, evaluating, and recommending policies that foster renewable energy growth and the energy transition.

You will analyze national and international policies, assess regulatory frameworks, and communicate findings to policymakers and industry leaders.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Public Policy, Environmental Science, Economics, Law or a related field.
• 5+ years of policy analysis, research or advocacy in renewable energy.
• Strong understanding of energy markets and SA regulatory processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with data analysis ability.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth research on national and international renewable energy policies.
• Evaluate policy effectiveness and propose data-driven recommendations.
• Develop briefs, reports and presentations for policymakers and industry leaders.
• Monitor legislation and engage with government bodies and industry associations.
• Analyze environmental, social and economic impacts of policies.
• Collaborate on policy-related research projects with internal and external partners.
