Placements24 is seeking a Senior Quantitative Analyst for a fully remote role open to candidates across South Africa. The role focuses on advanced mathematical methods to build trading models, risk tools, and pricing algorithms for a global financial services client.

The ideal candidate holds an advanced degree in a quantitative field, 5+ years of experience, and expert programming skills in Python, C++, or R.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or Financial Engineering).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantitative Analyst or in a similar role within Banking & Finance.
• Proven expertise in developing and implementing complex financial models.
• Advanced programming skills in Python, C++, or R, with experience in libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, Pandas.
• Strong understanding of stochastic calculus, time series analysis, and statistical modeling techniques.
• Excellent knowledge of financial markets, derivatives and risk management principles.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Must be eligible to work fully Remote from South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement quantitative models for trading strategies, risk management, and asset pricing.
• Conduct back-testing and statistical analysis of model performance.
• Utilize Python, C++, and R for model development and implementation.
• Collaborate with traders, portfolio managers, and risk managers to translate business needs into quantitative solutions.
• Research and explore new methodologies and technologies to enhance modeling capabilities.
• Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, insights, and potential alpha opportunities.
• Document model specifications, assumptions, and methodologies clearly.
• Ensure models comply with regulatory requirements and internal risk frameworks.
