Placements24 seeks a Senior Quantitative Analyst to join a global risk modelling team in a fully remote role in South Africa. You will develop, validate, and implement advanced models for market and credit risk, and regulatory compliance, using strong math, statistics and programming skills.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD or Master\'s in a quantitative field, with 7+ years of experience and the ability to communicate complex results to stakeholders across the business.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master\'s in a highly quantitative field.
• 7+ years of experience in quantitative analysis or risk management in financial services.
• Expertise in statistical modeling, time series, machine learning, and stochastic calculus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quantitative models for risk management (e.g., VaR, CVA, stress testing).
• Perform rigorous model validation to ensure accuracy, robustness, and regulatory compliance.
• Analyze large datasets using advanced statistical techniques and programming languages.
• Collaborate with front‑office, risk management, and technology teams to integrate models into production systems.
• Interpret model outputs and communicate complex findings to business stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of research and regulatory requirements (Basel III/IV, IFRS 9).
• Mentor junior quantitative analysts and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
