Placements24 seeks a Senior Quantitative Analyst to design and refine trading algorithms and risk models. You will drive data-driven investment strategies in a remote-first setup across South Africa, collaborating with global teams.

The role requires advanced degrees in quantitative fields, 5+ years in quantitative finance, and strong Python/C++ skills with NumPy, Pandas, and SciPy. A dynamic, autonomous, remote-capable candidate will excel.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or Financial Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in quantitative finance, algorithmic trading, or a similar analytical role.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++, with experience in data analysis libraries (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy).
• Deep understanding of statistical modeling, time series analysis, machine learning, and financial econometrics.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement sophisticated quantitative models and algorithms for trading strategies across various asset classes.
• Conduct in-depth statistical analysis and backtesting of trading models to assess performance, risk, and profitability.
• Collaborate closely with portfolio managers and traders to translate market insights and business requirements into actionable trading strategies.
• Develop and maintain robust risk management frameworks and perform stress testing to ensure portfolio resilience.
• Clean, process, and analyze large datasets to identify trading opportunities and patterns.
• Contribute to the ongoing research and development of new quantitative techniques and methodologies.
• Effectively communicate complex findings and model assumptions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Optimize existing trading systems for improved performance, speed, and efficiency.
