Placements24 is seeking a Senior Quantitative Analyst for a fully remote role within South Africa. The candidate will develop, validate, and implement sophisticated financial models used for risk, pricing and trading strategies, collaborating with traders, risk managers, and technology teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a quantitative finance environment, strong programming skills (Python/R/C++/Java), and deep knowledge of derivatives, stochastic calculus, and time series analysis.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering or Finance.
• Minimum of 5 years in a quantitative role within financial services.
• Proficiency in Python, R, C++, or Java.
• Strong understanding of derivatives, stochastic calculus, and time series analysis.
• Experience with data analysis and statistical modeling techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex quantitative models for pricing derivatives, assessing credit risk, and forecasting market movements.
• Conduct back-testing and validation of models to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Implement models into production environments using Python, R, C++, or Java.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization.
• Collaborate with front-office and risk management teams to translate needs into quantitative solutions.
• Prepare reports and presentations on model performance for senior management.
• Stay updated on developments in quantitative finance, ML, and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of quantitative frameworks and methodologies.
