Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Production Chemist for a leading Oil & Gas client. This fully remote role enables you to contribute to production optimization by developing, implementing, and monitoring chemical treatment programs for upstream and downstream processes, from your home office.

You will analyze production data and fluid samples, evaluate new chemicals, and provide technical guidance to field operations. The ideal candidate has a Master’s or Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in production chemistry within the Oil & Gas industry, with a focus on upstream operations.
• In-depth knowledge of corrosion, scale, paraffin, and emulsion control strategies.
• Experience with analytical techniques and laboratory procedures for fluid and deposit analysis.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote setting.
• Strong reporting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize chemical treatment programs for production facilities.
• Analyze production data and fluid samples to diagnose operational issues and recommend interventions.
• Evaluate new chemical products and technologies for potential application in production processes.
• Provide technical support and guidance to field operations teams on chemical handling, application, and troubleshooting.
• Conduct root cause analysis for production chemistry-related failures or underperformance.
• Collaborate with supply chain and vendors to ensure cost-effective procurement of chemicals.
