Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Production Chemist for our client in Vereeniging to strengthen production chemistry capabilities in the oil and gas sector. You will analyze production fluids, design chemical treatment programs, and optimize processes to improve quality and efficiency while reducing environmental impact.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in chemistry or chemical engineering, 6+ years in production chemistry, and strong skills in analytical techniques, laboratory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related science field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in production chemistry within the oil and gas sector.
• Proficiency in analytical techniques and laboratory instrumentation.
• Knowledge of scale inhibitors, corrosion inhibitors, demulsifiers, and other production chemicals.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and safety protocols.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production fluids (oil, gas, water) to determine composition.
• Develop and recommend appropriate chemical treatment programs for production operations.
• Monitor the effectiveness of chemical treatments and adjust dosages as necessary.
• Troubleshoot production chemistry challenges, such as scale, corrosion, and emulsion formation.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding chemical usage and disposal.
• Collaborate with field operations and engineering teams to implement best practices in production chemistry.
