Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Development Engineer to join their fully remote team. You will optimize chemical processes from concept to pilot scale, driving efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

Ideal candidate has 7+ years in process development, advanced degrees, and hands-on experience with Aspen Plus or HYSYS. You will collaborate across R&D, production, and engineering remotely to implement improvements.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in process development and scale-up.
• Proficiency in Aspen Plus, HYSYS, and statistical analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and separation processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Experience working in a remote, collaborative setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, simulation, and scale-up of novel chemical processes, ensuring feasibility and economic viability.
• Develop and optimize existing chemical manufacturing processes to enhance yield, reduce waste, and improve safety.
• Conduct thorough process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with R&D, production, and engineering teams remotely to troubleshoot process issues and implement improvements.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, process documentation, and P&IDs.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in chemical engineering technologies and methodologies.
