Job summary

Placements24 seeks a highly skilled Remote Process Development Chemical Engineer to join their team. This fully remote role focuses on developing and optimizing chemical processes from bench-scale to pilot and commercial scale.

You will use process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen Plus), perform mass and energy balances, and work with global teams to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions. A Master’s or Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5–7 years of progressive experience in process development, scale-up and optimization.
• Experience with Aspen Plus or similar process-simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and transport phenomena.
• Excellent remote collaboration and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and optimization of chemical processes from bench-scale to pilot and commercial scale.
• Perform mass and energy balances, kinetic modeling, and simulation.
• Design experiments to investigate variables, troubleshoot issues, and improve performance.
• Prepare process descriptions, P&IDs, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing engineers, and project managers across locations.
• Ensure designs meet safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Stay current with advancements in chemical engineering and process technology.
