Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Metallurgist for a fully remote role guiding mineral processing optimization across global operations. You will analyze performance data, design process improvements, and support pilot and lab studies to boost recovery and reduce costs.

The ideal candidate has a PhD/Masters in Metallurgy or related field with 10+ years in mineral processing, strong data analytics, and proven remote leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of mineral processing experience with focus on optimization.
• Strong knowledge of unit operations: crushing, grinding, flotation, CIL/CIP, smelting.
• Proficiency in simulation software and statistics; excellent reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze plant performance data to identify areas for improvement in mineral recovery and efficiency.
• Develop, test, and implement process modifications to optimize metallurgical outcomes.
• Conduct pilot plant studies and laboratory test work to validate new processing strategies.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for plant operations, addressing complex metallurgical challenges.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to design and commission new processing equipment or upgrades.
• Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in metallurgical processing.
