Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Remote Senior Metallurgist to lead optimization across global operations. This fully remote role targets higher recovery, lower costs, and improved sustainability in mineral processing.

You will analyze data, model circuits, and guide virtual-site teams to implement improvements. Ideal candidates have 7+ years in extractive metallurgy, degrees in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering, and strong skills in comminution, flotation, and refining processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering or a related field.
7+ years of experience in extractive metallurgy and mineral processing with a track record of process optimization.
Experience with comminution, flotation, leaching, and refining circuits.
Proficiency in metallurgical modeling and simulation software.
Strong analytical and presentation skills for remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

Analyze metallurgical data and plant performance to identify optimization opportunities.
Develop strategies to improve recovery, grade, and throughput in mineral processing circuits.
Conduct virtual process audits and troubleshoot operations remotely.
Collaborate with site metallurgists and engineers to implement changes and monitor outcomes.
Evaluate new processing technologies for potential adoption.
Prepare technical reports and guide decision-making on metallurgical improvements.
