Placements24 is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to work remotely with operational focus on the Richards Bay facility in KwaZulu-Natal. The role drives efficiency by optimizing production processes, integrating new systems, and mentoring junior engineers.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in manufacturing engineering, strong Lean/Six Sigma experience, and proficiency with CAD, Arena/AnyLogic, and data tools. Collaboration with on-site teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering is required.
• Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive Industrial Engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Proven use of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
• Proficiency with CAD, simulation tools Arena/AnyLogic, and data tools like Minitab/Excel.
• Excellent communication and ability to collaborate remotely and on-site.
• Experience in project management and cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes, workflows, and layouts.
• Design and implement new production systems and technologies.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, SOPs, and training materials.
• Conduct time and motion studies, ergonomics assessments, and sampling to set standards.
• Use simulation and data analysis tools to model potential changes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address challenges and implement solutions.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean and Six Sigma projects.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and production staff.
• Ensure all designs comply with safety and environmental standards.
