Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Senior HSE Engineer to drive health, safety and environmental performance across global energy projects. This fully remote role requires developing, implementing and monitoring HSE policies from your home office while collaborating with international teams.

You will conduct risk assessments, JSAs and incident investigations, deliver training, and ensure regulatory compliance. A background in oil/gas or power is preferred and a strong safety culture is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, safety management, or a related field.
• 8+ years in HSE management, preferably oil & gas or power generation.
• NEBOSH IGC, CSP, or equivalent certification.
• Knowledge of regulations, risk management and incident investigation.

About the Role

Our client, a major contractor in the energy sector , is seeking a Remote Senior HSE Engineer to ensure the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental performance across their global projects. Operating entirely remotely, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring HSE policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture. This role is vital for safeguarding personnel, assets, and the environment, particularly in high-risk operational areas. You will collaborate closely with project teams worldwide, leveraging your expertise to mitigate hazards and ensure regulatory compliance from your home office.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive HSE management systems and plans for diverse energy projects.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard identification, and job safety analyses (JSAs).
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs to site personnel and management.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international HSE regulations and client requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental management, preferably within the oil and gas or power generation industries.
• Professional certification such as NEBOSH International General Certificate, CSP, or equivalent.
• In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, risk management techniques, and incident investigation methodologies.
• Experience with developing and implementing HSE policies and procedures for complex projects.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills, crucial for a remote role.
