Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant for a fully remote role based in South Africa. You will support comprehensive accounting tasks, ensure IFRS compliance, and contribute to timely financial reporting within a remote finance department.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of accounting experience, strong Excel and accounting software proficiency, and the ability to work independently from a home-based setup. This position offers excellent work-life balance and independence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; professional certification preferred.
• 7+ years in accounting with focus on financial reporting and GL management.
• Remote work capability with ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and analysis of financial statements in line with accounting standards.
• Manage month-end and year-end closings, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations and tax requirements.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and internal controls.
• Provide financial insights to cross-functional teams on an ongoing basis.
• Manage external audits and liaise with auditors as required.
