Placements24 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a fully remote team building an energy analytics platform. You will design, develop, and optimize data-intensive applications using Python, Java, or Scala, and collaborate with data scientists to deploy ML models.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in software development, strong experience with Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and a proven track record delivering scalable solutions in energy or data analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on data-intensive applications or analytics platforms.
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Java, Scala, or Go).
• Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills for a remote role.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance software applications for energy analytics.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Develop and implement data processing pipelines and ML models for energy data.
• Collaborate with data scientists, domain experts, and other engineers to define software requirements and features.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technology selection for the analytics platform.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex software defects and issues.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in software development and energy analytics.
• Engage actively in a remote team environment through virtual collaboration tools and agile methodologies.
