Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join a fully remote analytics team serving the Oil & Gas industry. You will leverage large datasets to build predictive models, uncover insights, and drive data-informed decisions across exploration, production, and operations.

You will design and implement ML models for predictive maintenance and reservoir performance, analyze data from multiple sources, and communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Requires 7+ years of professional Data Science experience.
• Experience in Oil & Gas or energy sector preferred.
• Proficient in Python or R and ML libraries.
• Strong knowledge of statistical modeling and data mining.
• Experience with big data tools and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy ML models for predictive maintenance and optimization.
• Analyze large datasets from Oil & Gas value chain to extract insights.
• Design experiments to test hypotheses and validate models.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions.
• Communicate findings clearly via visuals and reports to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay updated on ML/AI advancements and apply them to energy applications.
