Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our innovative team on a fully remote basis. You will develop ML models for energy forecasting, extract and clean large energy datasets, and design experiments to validate model performance.

Collaboration with engineers and domain experts will drive data-driven solutions and strategic impact. The ideal candidate has 6+ years in data science, strong Python or R skills, knowledge of Spark/Hadoop and SQL, and excellent communication abilities

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in CS/ Statistics/ Mathematics or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of professional Data Science experience focusing on predictive modeling.
• Proficiency in Python or R and associated libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop) and SQL.
• Strong statistical foundations and experimental design.
• Excellent communication and independent working capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced ML models for energy forecasting and optimization.
• Extract, clean, and transform large energy-related datasets.
• Design experiments to test hypotheses and validate model performance.
• Collaborate with domain experts and engineers to define data-driven solutions.
• Communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to best practices.
