Job summary

Placements24 client, a prominent manufacturer of specialized electronic equipment, is seeking a Senior Electrical Compliance Engineer to join their team remotely. You will develop compliance strategies, manage testing and liaise with certification bodies to ensure products meet safety, EMC and environmental standards.

The role requires deep knowledge of IEC, NRCS, UL, CE standards and strong communication to collaborate with global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical compliance engineering.
• Strong knowledge of product safety standards (IEC, UL) and EMC/ environmental regulations (RoHS, WEEE).
• Experience with national and international certification bodies.
• Familiarity with compliance testing methodologies and equipment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong analytical skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a remote work environment.
• Experience developing and maintaining compliance documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement compliance strategies for electrical/electronic products.
• Interpret and apply relevant standards (e.g., IEC 60950, IEC 62368, EMC standards, environmental regulations).
• Manage product testing and certification process; select labs; oversee testing execution.
• Liaise with certification bodies (NRCS, SABS, UL, TÜV) for approvals.
• Conduct pre-compliance testing and design reviews to identify issues early in development.
• Maintain detailed compliance documentation (test reports, certificates, declarations of conformity).
• Stay updated on evolving regulatory requirements and standards in key markets.
• Provide technical guidance and training to design/engineering teams on compliance matters.
• Investigate and resolve compliance-related non-conformances.
• Support product safety reviews and risk assessments.
