Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will design and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure, automate deployments, and drive CI/CD excellence.

The role requires deep expertise across AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and IaC tools, plus strong scripting. You will mentor juniors and help advance DevOps practices in a remote-first team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps/SRE or related infrastructure role.
• Proven expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Strong Docker and Kubernetes experience.
• Proficiency with Python, Bash or Go scripting.
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation or Ansible.
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD principles and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Excellent problem-solving and remote collaboration skills.

Responsabilités

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and infra provisioning.
• Develop and maintain scalable, highly available cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Manage Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Automate system tasks using scripting and IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure maximum uptime.
• Collaborate with development and QA to optimize SDLC.
• Implement security best practices in cloud infrastructure.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote DevOps culture.
• Manage logging, monitoring and alerting systems.
