Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Bioinformatician to join our fully remote team. The role focuses on designing and implementing advanced analytical pipelines for genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics, translating biological questions into computational strategies.

You will analyze NGS data, develop Python/R tools, and collaborate with researchers while mentoring junior colleagues in a remote-first, autonomous work environment.

Qualifications

PhD or MS in a quantitative field with bioinformatics focus.
At least 6 years of progressive bioinformatics experience with omics data.
Strong Python/R programming and Linux command-line skills.

Responsibilities

Design and maintain scalable omics data pipelines.
Analyze genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data.
Collaborate with biologists and researchers on analyses.
Develop Python/R scripts for data processing.
Implement advanced algorithms and statistical models.
Contribute to manuscript preparation.
Stay updated with bioinformatics advances.
Communicate results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Mentor junior bioinformaticians.
