Placements24 is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for a fully remote fintech startup. Design, build, and maintain robust APIs, microservices, and scalable backend systems, mentoring peers and shaping architecture.

You will work with Go, Python, Node.js, or Java, manage databases (SQL/NoSQL), and implement CI/CD, security, and performance optimizations in a distributed cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in backend development.
• Proven experience in designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Expertise in at least one backend programming language (Go, Python, Node.js, Java, Ruby).
• Strong understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy high-performance, scalable backend services and APIs.
• Build and maintain robust database solutions (SQL and NoSQL) ensuring data integrity and security.
• Develop and manage microservices architecture and service integrations.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and QA to deliver features.
• Write clean, well-documented code following best practices.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize applications.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews.
