Placements24 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Java) to join a remote, globally distributed fintech engineering team. You will design, develop, and implement robust backend systems, focusing on scalable microservices, relational databases, and high performance data handling.

The role requires expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and database design, with a strong emphasis on code quality, testing, and collaboration across distributed teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive Java backend development experience.
• Strong Spring Boot, Spring Data and Spring Security knowledge.
• Experience with microservices and relational databases.
• Familiarity with Kafka and RESTful API design.
• Proficient in build tools (Maven/Gradle) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Unit and integration testing using JUnit/Mockito.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-quality Java backend services.
• Develop and integrate microservices for scalable architectures.
• Optimize relational databases and complex queries (PostgreSQL/Oracle).
• Write clean, tested code and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with product managers and architects on tech decisions.
• Ensure security and reliability of financial systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural direction.
