Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Automotive Diagnostics Technician for a remote-first role based in Midrand but serving nationwide. You will diagnose complex vehicle systems remotely, guide repairs, and help field technicians across the country from your home office.

The role requires 7+ years as a Master Automotive Technician or Diagnostic Specialist, strong CAN bus knowledge, OEM software proficiency, and excellent remote communication with technicians and engineers nationwide.

Qualifications

7+ years as a Master Automotive Technician or Diagnostic Specialist.
Expertise in diagnosing complex electrical, electronic and mechanical systems.
Proficient with OEM diagnostic software and hardware including oscilloscopes and scan tools.
Strong understanding of CAN bus and vehicle networks.
Able to convey technical information clearly to technicians remotely.

Responsibilities

Perform in-depth remote diagnostics on a wide range of vehicles using advanced tools.
Interpret DTCs and data to identify root causes and repair strategies.
Provide actionable guidance to field technicians via remote channels.
Develop and maintain a knowledge base of automotive issues and solutions.
Collaborate with manufacturers and engineering teams on improvements.
Train and mentor junior remote support technicians.
