Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Diagnostic Technician to join a fully remote team. You will diagnose and solve complex vehicle faults using remote tools, supporting mobile technicians and service departments nationwide from home.

Key requirements include proven automotive diagnostic experience, proficiency with scan tools, oscilloscopes and multimeters, and a solid understanding of electronic systems.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an automotive technician with a strong focus on diagnostics and problem-solving.
• Proficiency with automotive diagnostic equipment and software, including scan tools, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
• Strong understanding of vehicle electronic systems, engine management, and powertrain components.
• Excellent remote communication skills to explain technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage workload in a remote setting.
• Relevant automotive certifications (e.g., ASE) are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced remote diagnostics on a wide variety of vehicle makes and models.
• Use specialized diagnostic software and remote tools to interpret data and run tests.
• Document diagnostic findings, procedures, and resolutions in the database.
• Collaborate with mobile technicians and service advisors to ensure timely repairs.
• Stay up-to-date with latest automotive tech and diagnostic techniques.
• Provide remote technical support to other technicians when complex issues arise.
