Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their team in a fully remote capacity, supporting operations linked to Port Elizabeth. This role focuses on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of financial reporting across the organization.

You will lead IFRS reporting, manage monthly closes, perform reconciliations, and collaborate with auditors while advancing internal controls and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline.
• Professional designation (CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience with focus on financial reporting.
• Proficiency with major accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Solid understanding of GAAP/IFRS and South African tax legislation.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements adhering to IFRS.
• Manage the end-to-end financial close process, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Perform complex reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing required financial information.
• Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes and internal controls.
• Assist in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities as needed.
