Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Reservoir Simulation Specialist for a fully remote role in the Oil & Gas sector. You will develop, calibrate, and run complex reservoir models to predict performance, optimize recovery, and support field development decisions from anywhere in SA or suitable location.

You’ll work with geoscientists and engineers via virtual platforms, applying advanced numerical methods, integrating seismic and well data, and sharing clear recommendations to global project teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on reservoir simulation experience.
• Experience with major reservoir simulators (ECLIPSE/CMG/INTERSECT).
• Strong understanding of reservoir engineering, fluid flow, and thermodynamics.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Authorized to work remotely from SA or suitable location.

Responsibilities

• Build, calibrate, and run dynamic reservoir simulations.
• Perform sensitivity analyses and uncertainty assessments.
• Generate production and pressure forecasts.
• Integrate seismic, well logs, and production data.
• Present results to multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop and document workflows and best practices.
• Troubleshoot convergence issues.
• Stay up-to-date with advanced reservoir modeling tech.
• Assist in data acquisition strategy.
