Placements24 invites a highly skilled Quantitative Developer to join a premier remote trading team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and implementing high-frequency trading algorithms, back-testing systems, and performance analysis tools for a global client base across South Africa.

You'll collaborate with researchers and traders to translate advanced models into production-ready code, optimize low-latency systems, and stay ahead of market microstructure trends in banking and finance.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in quantitative development or high-frequency trading environments.
• Expert proficiency in C++ and/or Python for low-latency applications.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, derivatives, and trading strategies.
• Experience with real-time data processing and low-latency systems.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication skills in a remote setting.
• Proven track record of delivering production-ready software.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy high-performance algorithmic trading strategies and systems.
• Implement low-latency trading infrastructure and optimize execution algorithms.
• Design and build robust back-testing frameworks and simulation environments.
• Collaborate with quantitative researchers to refine and implement trading models.
• Analyze trading performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in languages such as C++, Python, or Java.
• Monitor and troubleshoot live trading systems, ensuring stability and reliability.
• Stay abreast of market microstructure, new technologies, and quantitative finance trends.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the firm's trading technology stack.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing sessions.
