Placements24 is seeking a Remote Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure exceptional quality across R&D through production for advanced materials. The role offers fully remote work from South Africa with a strong emphasis on independent work and cross-functional collaboration.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in QA/QC, solid experience with ISO 9001 and SPC, and expertise in material testing techniques. Excellent analytical and communication skills are essential for success in a distributed team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a materials-related engineering field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control in manufacturing or R&D.
• Proficiency with quality management systems (ISO 9001) and SPC.
• Experience with material testing techniques and analytical instrumentation.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; ability to work remotely.
• Familiarity with advanced materials (polymers, composites, ceramics) is desirable.
• Ability to document and present findings clearly; independent working style.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance plans for advanced materials.
• Inspect, test, and validate raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
• Analyze data to identify defects, trends, and root causes; drive improvements.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and production to implement CAPA.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare quality reports, audit findings, and management reviews.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of quality management systems.
• Provide training on quality standards and best practices.
• Monitor supplier quality and conduct audits as needed.
• Stay updated on new quality methodologies in materials science and manufacturing.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical field
