Placements24 has a client in Richards Bay seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join their chemical manufacturing team. You will design, optimize, and troubleshoot chemical processes to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production, contributing to operational excellence.

You will drive yield improvements, reduce waste, and ensure compliance with stringent industry standards, collaborating with production, R&D, and maintenance to implement best practices and safety reviews.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience in process engineering within the chemical manufacturing industry.
Experience with process simulation software (Aspen HYSYS, CHEMCAD) and data analysis tools.
Strong knowledge of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
Knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory requirements in chemical plants.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement new chemical processes or modifications to existing ones to improve efficiency, safety, and product quality.
Monitor process performance, analyze data, and troubleshoot issues to optimize yields and reduce operational costs.
Develop and maintain process documentation, including P&IDs, operating procedures, and batch records.
Ensure all processes comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations, implementing robust control measures.
Collaborate with production teams, R&D, and maintenance to resolve technical challenges and implement best practices.
Lead or participate in process hazard analyses (PHAs) and other safety reviews to identify and mitigate risks.
