Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Chemical Engineer specializing in simulation and modeling for a remote, globally focused role. You will develop advanced process models, run complex simulations, and deliver data-driven insights to support R&D, design, and optimization.

The ideal candidate holds a Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering with at least five years of experience in process simulation. Proficiency in Aspen Plus, HYSYS, or COMSOL and programming (Python/MATLAB) are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering with a strong focus on modeling and simulation.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in process simulation and modeling.
• Expert proficiency with simulation software such as Aspen Plus, HYSYS, COMSOL, or similar.
• Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, thermodynamics, kinetics, and transport phenomena.
• Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for data analysis and model customization is a plus.
• Excellent remote collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and maintain sophisticated process models and simulations using industry-standard software.
• Conduct steady-state and dynamic simulations to analyze process performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize designs.
• Utilize simulation results to provide recommendations for process improvements, capital investments, and operational strategies.
• Collaborate virtually with R&D, engineering, and operations teams to define modeling requirements and interpret results.
• Stay abreast of advancements in simulation technology and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
• Prepare technical reports and presentations detailing simulation methodologies, findings, and recommendations.
