Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Principal Scientist to lead Process Development in a fully remote capacity. You will optimize and scale up chemical manufacturing processes for novel compounds, leveraging extensive chemical engineering and process chemistry expertise to design, validate robust manufacturing protocols.

The role emphasizes remote leadership, collaboration with a global team, and oversight of pilot-scale studies, process control, and regulatory compliance (GMP).

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in process development and scale-up within pharma or fine chemicals.
• Deep understanding of reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and mass transfer principles.
• Proven experience designing and implementing GMP-compliant processes.
• Expertise in PAT and SPC forprocess control and quality.
• Strong leadership, project management, and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and optimization of scalable chemical processes for manufacturing APIs and intermediates.
• Design and execute pilot-scale studies to assess process feasibility and identify parameters.
• Develop robust process control strategies and ensure GMP compliance.
• Troubleshoot complex process issues to improve yield, purity, and efficiency.
• Collaborate remotely with research chemists, analytical scientists, and manufacturing teams.
• Mentor junior scientists and engineers, fostering continuous improvement and innovation.
