Job summary

Placements24 is searching for a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead high-profile infrastructure and industrial projects from Rustenburg. You will shape electrical design standards, oversee complex calculations, and guide a team of engineers and designers while engaging directly with clients and project managers.

The role demands Pr.Eng. registration, 10–12 years of experience, and deep knowledge of power distribution, lighting, earthing, and protection systems, with offshore or mining

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10–12 years of progressively responsible experience in electrical design engineering on large-scale projects.
• Pr.Eng. registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for major infrastructure, industrial, and commercial projects from concept to completion.
• Develop and implement advanced electrical design methodologies and standards.
• Mentor and lead a team of electrical engineers and designers.
• Perform load estimations, fault studies, and protection coordination analyses.
• Prepare detailed design documents, drawings, specs, and tender packages.
• Engage with clients and project managers to ensure design integration and delivery.
