Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical design for large-scale industrial facilities. This fully remote role requires delivering robust, safe systems, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with clients to drive design excellence across projects.

You will oversee power distribution, coordination with project teams, and compliance with SANS/IEC standards, leveraging AutoCAD, Revit MEP, ETAP, and PSS/E. A Pr. Eng. is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Pr. Eng. registration with ECSA mandatory.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical design for industrial facilities.
• Experience leading design teams and projects from concept to completion.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, ETAP, PSS/E.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for major industrial projects (factories, processing plants, manufacturing facilities).
• Develop electrical system designs including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and earthing.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and calculations with industry-standard software.
• Perform power system analyses (load flow, short circuit, arc flash).
• Mentor junior engineers and review team work to ensure quality and technical integrity.
