Placements24 is seeking an HR Coordinator with a strong payroll and benefits focus for a remote role servicing staff across South Africa. The candidate will ensure accurate payroll processing, benefits administration, and data integrity within supported locations.

Ideal applicants have 3–5 years in HR administration, solid payroll software experience, and excellent attention to detail. The position offers flexibility and remote collaboration with a modern, responsive HR team.

Qualifications

• Relevant HR or Payroll administration qualification.
• 3–5 years of HR administration experience with a strong payroll focus.
• Proficiency with payroll software and HRIS systems (VIP Payroll, Sage, Workday, SAP HR).
• Strong knowledge of South African payroll legislation and tax regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and data handling accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-service orientation.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Discretion handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Administer and process monthly payroll using HRIS/payroll software.
• Ensure compliance with PAYE, UIF, SDL and other deductions.
• Manage enrollment, changes and terminations for medical aid and retirement funds.
• Serve as primary payroll and benefits contact for employees.
• Reconcile payroll and benefits data and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain confidential payroll/benefits records.
• Liaise with external payroll providers and benefit admins.
• Assist in communicating benefits information to staff.
• Support ad-hoc payroll/benefits reporting for HR managers.
• Document all payroll and benefits processes per internal controls.
