Placements24 is recruiting on behalf of a prominent telecommunications company in Pretoria, Gauteng, for an Information Security Architect specializing in network security. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining a secure, resilient network infrastructure with firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and zero-trust architectures.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years in information security, deep TCP/IP knowledge, and cloud network security familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Cybersecurity.
• 7+ years in information security focusing on network security architecture.
• Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and zero-trust architectures.
• Familiarity with cloud network security (AWS VPC, Azure VNet).
• Strong scripting and automation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage network security solutions including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and segmentation.
• Develop and maintain security architecture blueprints and standards for networks.
• Assess network designs against security policies.
• Collaborate with network teams to integrate security controls.
• Define secure network configurations and hardening standards.
• Evaluate new network security technologies.
• Manage security monitoring tools for network traffic analysis.
• Lead security incident investigations related to network breaches.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
