Job summary

Vodacom in Durban is seeking a Network Security Architect to lead the design, implementation, and management of secure network infrastructures, protecting critical assets and customer data. You will work with cross‑functional teams to develop security strategies, assess risks, and ensure ISO 27001/NIST compliance.

The role requires 5–7 years in network security architecture, experience with SABSA/TOGAF, and cloud security knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related discipline.
• 5–7 years of experience in network security architecture and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage secure network infrastructures for core, access, and data center networks.
• Lead risk assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability analyses.
• Develop and enforce security policies and standards aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with network engineers, IT ops, and product teams to integrate security controls.
• Lead incident response activities and provide expert security guidance.
• Evaluate and recommend advanced security technologies including zero-trust, micro-segmentation, and AI-driven threat detection.
• Prepare architecture documentation and present findings to leadership.
• Mentor junior staff and promote security awareness.
