Placements24 is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust network systems in a hybrid Randburg setting. You will ensure performance, availability, and security while collaborating with IT teams to meet business needs.

The role requires 4+ years in network engineering, with strong TCP/IP, BGP/OSPF knowledge and Cisco/Juniper experience. A CCNA/CCNP or equivalent is highly desirable for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience in network engineering or administration.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF).
• Experience with network hardware from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, or similar.
• Familiarity with network security principles and technologies (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and deploy LANs, WANs, and other network infrastructures.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and optimize network efficiency.
• Ensure network security by implementing firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures.
• Manage and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, and servers.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to plan and execute network upgrades and expansions.
• Provide technical support for network-related issues and document network configurations.
