Placements24 is seeking a talented Remote Mechanical Engineer to join their R&D team. You will conceptualize, design, and prototype advanced mechanical systems, collaborating with a distributed team to push technology forward.

The role requires 5+ years in mechanical design and strong CAD/CFD proficiency, plus the ability to work autonomously in a fully remote setting. You will contribute to innovative projects and comprehensive testing campaigns.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical design and R&D experience with a strong portfolio.
• Proficiency with CAD and simulation tools (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, ANSYS, COMSOL).
• Ability to work independently and manage remote R&D projects.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills in a virtual environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization and design of new mechanical systems for R&D.
• Use CAD software for detailed 3D modeling and 2D drafting of components and assemblies.
• Perform FEA and CFD simulations to optimize performance.
• Develop and oversee prototype fabrication, testing, and design iterations.
• Collaborate with remote colleagues across disciplines using digital tools.
• Document findings, decisions, and test results in reports.
