Placements24 is seeking a talented Machine Design Engineer to join a remote engineering team working from anywhere in South Africa, including Mbombela (Nelspruit). You will lead the complete design cycle for industrial machinery, from concept through detailed specs and production support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in machine design.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Inventor, SolidWorks, CATIA) and FEA tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, machine dynamics, and industrial automation.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage projects remotely.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and document machinery and automated systems using 3D CAD.
• Create detailed drawings, schematics, and BOMs.
• Perform stress analysis and kinematic simulations to ensure design integrity.
• Specify gearboxes, motors, actuators, and bearings.
• Collaborate remotely with control engineers, project managers, and clients.
• Provide technical support during manufacturing, assembly, and commissioning.
