Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a forward-thinking Automation and Process Engineer to join their remote team, focusing on Upington-based operations. You will design, implement, and optimize automated systems to boost efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

Requirements: a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering; 5+ years in automation; PLC/SCADA experience; robotics and sensor knowledge; data analysis and process simulation skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
5+ years in automation, process engineering, or a related role.
Experience with PLC programming, SCADA, and industrial control systems.
Knowledge of robotics, sensor technology, and automated manufacturing processes.
Data analysis and process simulation tools.
Strong remote-work and project-management capabilities.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement automated solutions for processes.
Analyze workflows to identify opportunities for automation and optimization.
Integrate automation hardware and software components.
Develop process documentation and SOPs.
Troubleshoot and optimize automated systems for performance, reliability, and safety.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to achieve goals.
