Placements24 in South Africa is seeking a dedicated Remote Litigation Paralegal to support our legal team. This fully remote role allows you to work from anywhere in the country while assisting attorneys with case preparation, document management, and legal research for various litigation matters.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in paralegal studies and at least three years of litigation experience, with proficiency in LexisNexis or Westlaw, e-discovery, and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent practical experience in paralegal studies.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on litigation.
• Proficiency with LexisNexis, Westlaw, and e-discovery platforms.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a remote environment.
• Familiarity with court rules and procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Must have a reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions.
• Organize, manage, and maintain case files, both physical and electronic.
• Conduct legal research using online databases and other resources.
• Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses under attorney supervision.
• Prepare exhibits and summaries for trial.
• Communicate with clients, witnesses, and court personnel as directed by attorneys.
• File legal documents with courts and agencies electronically and in person, as required.
• Schedule depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
• Manage discovery processes, including document review and production.
• Track case progress and ensure deadlines are met.
