Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a visionary Lead Structural Engineer to spearhead remote structural design. You will mentor a distributed team, perform advanced analyses for diverse projects, and ensure compliance with national codes from a home office in Durban and beyond.
The role requires a Master's in Structural Engineering, Pr. Eng. with ECSA, and 10+ years in design and project management, plus fluency with major FEA and CAD tools to drive innovative, safe structures nationwide.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering required.
- Pr. Eng. registration with ECSA mandatory.
- 10+ years of progressive structural engineering design and project management experience.
- Expertise in FEA software and CAD tools.
Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design process from concept to construction support.
- Perform complex structural analysis using SAP2000, ETABS or STAAD.Pro.
- Develop and review drawings, specs and technical reports per codes.
- Mentor a remote team of engineers and technicians.
- Collaborate with architects, PMs and construction teams via digital channels.
- Oversee site inspections and provide remote guidance as needed.
