Placements24 is seeking a Lead Sound Designer for a fully remote position with a renowned international production house. You will conceptualize, create, and implement high-quality soundscapes for VR/AR, interactive installations, and cinematic content, leading a distributed team of engineers and designers.

You will work with directors, developers, and UX teams to push innovative sonic solutions, manage budgets and ensure licensing compliance across projects worldwide, while mentoring remote

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Sound Designer with leadership in audio for digital media (VR/AR, gaming, interactive installations, film).
• Advanced proficiency in DAWs (Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Cubase, Ableton Live).
• Strong understanding of audio middleware and real-time engines (Wwise, FMOD).
• Ability to lead creative teams remotely with clear communication.
• Portfolio demonstrating innovative sound design is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptualization and execution of sound design for digital projects (VR/AR, installations, video).
• Develop and implement audio strategies to enhance user immersion.
• Supervise and mentor a distributed team of sound engineers and designers.
• Create, record, edit and mix sound effects, dialogue and ambient textures.
• Source or create assets, ensuring licensing compliance and originality.
• Collaborate with directors, developers, UX designers and stakeholders to integrate sound.
• Manage budgets and timelines across multiple projects to ensure on-time delivery.
• Conduct QA tests for audio elements across platforms.
• Stay at the forefront of audio tech and tools to improve the sonic experience.
• Maintain a comprehensive library of assets and project files.
