Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Lead Solar Project Developer to spearhead growth of a solar energy portfolio in a fully remote role. You will originate, evaluate, and secure solar projects from inception to financial close, working with remote teams across markets.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Engineering/Business/Finance (Master's preferred), 7+ years in solar development, and expertise in PPAs, project finance, and regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in solar project development.
• Proven success in originating and closing utility-scale or distributed solar projects.
• Expertise in PPA negotiation, project finance, and regulatory navigation.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with project management software and tools.

Responsibilities

• Originate and develop new solar power projects from site identification through to financial close.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and preliminary project designs.
• Secure land leases, permits, and grid interconnection agreements.
• Negotiate PPAs with off-takers and utility companies.
• Build and maintain relationships with landowners, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and external consultants through development.
