Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Lead Remote Project Manager to drive digital transformation for clients across South Africa. This fully remote role supports distributed teams and enables shaping project strategy from your home office.

You will define roadmaps, guide delivery, manage budgets and risks, and mentor junior PMs while ensuring stakeholder alignment and adoption of new digital tools.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in business, IT or a related field.
• 10+ years of project management experience in digital transformation.
• Proven experience delivering complex digital projects in consultancy.
• Extensive experience managing fully remote teams.
• Expertise in Agile, Scrum and PM frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of digital technologies, cloud, data analytics and AI.
• Excellent virtual communication and stakeholder management.
• Proficient with remote collaboration tools: Slack, Zoom, Teams, Trello, Asana.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale digital transformation projects.
• Define project roadmaps, strategies, and success metrics aligned with client objectives.
• Manage remote project teams, fostering collaboration, communication and accountability.
• Utilize Agile and other PM methodologies to optimize project delivery.
• Oversee risk management, identify issues, and mitigate proactively.
• Facilitate virtual workshops and stakeholder meetings for alignment.
• Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships.
• Drive continuous improvement in processes and remote team performance.
• Ensure successful adoption of new digital tools by end-users.
• Provide mentorship to junior project managers and team members remotely.
