Placements24 is seeking a Lead Process Safety Engineer for a fully remote global role. You will develop, implement, and oversee Process Safety Management (PSM) systems, lead PHAs (HAZOP/LOPA), and mentor teams across operations and engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years in process safety with at least 5 years in a lead or senior role.
• In-depth knowledge of PSM principles and standards.
• Extensive experience conducting PHAs (HAZOP, LOPA) and MOC.
• Strong understanding of chemical processes, equipment, and hazards.
• Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and consequence modeling software.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Proven ability to manage projects and deliver results in a remote work environment.
• PE or CSP certification is highly desirable.
• Experience in petrochemical, refining, or specialty chemical industries.

Responsabilités

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
• Lead and facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
• Develop and oversee safety studies, risk assessments, and consequence modeling.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant process safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, EPA RMP).
• Develop and implement procedures for managing change (MOC), pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR), and incident investigations.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on process safety principles to engineering, operations, and management teams.
• Develop and deliver process safety training programs to employees at all levels.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of facilities to ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures.
• Investigate process safety incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Stay current with evolving process safety technologies, methodologies, and best practices.
• Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
• Manage external consultants and contractors involved in process safety reviews.
